Electrical Adventures on the Gold Coast

Have you ever wondered what a Gold Coast electrician does on a daily basis? Recently one of our Metropolitan electricians attended a property that needed a lighting repair service. What happened next? Well, you’ll have to read on to find out.

After a quick Google search for ‘electrician Gold Coast‘, Trevor called Metropolitan Electrical Contractors because his downlights had stopped working. The call centre advised him that they could have an electrician to his door within the hour which he was pleased with. Upon arrival one hour later, the electrician inspected the lights and found that the wiring had been cut. Trevor had always suspected that he had a family of possums living in his roof so he wasn’t at all surprised with the diagnosis.

The electrician suggested a complete replacement of his downlights. He assessed the size of Trevor’s household, the number of occupants and his electricity output to suggest the best replacement option. His suggestion was to install smart LED downlights. Trevor was unsure because he was unfamiliar with smart lighting, however after having the benefits of them outlined to him by the electrician, he was sold.

Most smart lights use LED technology that lasts up to 20 times longer than your average light bulb. The lights can be controlled via an app and or a light switch. In Trevor’s case he wanted to control them via both.

The electrician began work and the job was finished two hours later. All of our electricians arrive at the job with a van stocked full all the necessary parts to complete any job on the spot. However, in this instance, the electrician had to source some smart lights for Trevor.  Upon completion of the job, the electrician walked him through exactly what he had done and how to operate his new lights via the app and switch.
