How high should a TV antenna be mounted?

Ideally, your antenna should be 9 metres above ground level. This gives you the clearest over-the-air connection with a transmitter.

When objects are in the line of transmission, your signal can weaken. This is one reason why outdoor antennas are best as there’s minimal risk of signal interruption. But if that’s not a viable option, modern indoor antennas provide a suitable alternative.

Does aluminium foil boost antenna signal?

Wrapping your antenna in aluminium foil might sound like a silly idea, but you’ll be surprised by the results. When you wrap your antenna in aluminium, you’re effectively increasing its surface area and conductivity.

Believe it or not, your TV signal should improve with some minor position adjustments! However, while this works, you’re probably better off getting a longer coaxial cord so you can move the antenna to a better position.

Do you need a digital antenna for each TV?

A TV antenna can comfortably provide a signal for up to six televisions. But you will need a splitter to help divide the signal among different outlets, and potentially a booster.

The booster will amplify the signal if you’re in a poor reception area and improves sound and picture quality across multiple TVs.
